Speedo Cables

Getting my R-32 GTS-4 speedo fixed today - the speedo had snapped - no HICAS etc problems followed.
Originally I was going to be getting a second hand one for 75$ from Eastern Autos in Onehunga. The mechanic then realised that it was for a 4WD car and not a RWD - apparently the cable for a GTS-4 is a bit longer:bloated: is this true? Anyhow, he called them back and enquired about the one for a GTS-4(4WD) and they hiked up the price to 175$ because it is for a 4WD and the cables are supposedly harder to get! (Is this true?).
So I was just wondering how much a new one would cost and how you other guys get on for parts for there machines and also to let you all know what you could expect if you find yourself in need of a new cable.
