I have a friend who used to own a black 1998 Jetta that he claims was doing 420 HP to the wheels but since he totalled it, I haven't been able to see any proof. I didn't know anything about cars back when he owned it so I had no clue whether he was telling the truth or not, but since I've gotten a car of my own, I've been learning more and more about them. I was hoping someone here could clear things up for me.

Here's where I'm having trouble:

He claims he dropped in a VR6 and turbocharged it. That's all fine and well, however, he claims he had 4-2-1 headers, a cold air intake, and a dry ice box. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the VR6 a 6-cylinder engine and the headers are more like 6-2-1? And wouldn't it be difficult to do a turbo with a front-mount intercooler and BOTH a cold air intake and a dry ice box?

There were a few other things that were bothering me about his claims but they seem to elude me at the moment. Thanks in advance!

it would be two 3-1 headers i assume.

those numbers arent insane for people that know what theyre doing, but it sounds like this guy isnt one of those people
