I've heard on some beaches you're not allowed to pass the same place twice within 30 minutes.. wtf is happening to this country.

Amerika. Tovarisch, comrade Ricochet.

Jesus. America invented cruising. What's next? Making it illegal for us to walk into dark alleys, as bad things can happen?

I think this belongs in the Political forum, so I am making a copy of this in there, and allow you guys to discuss this further in here, also.

Damn, I didn't even know that shit existed! I hope I'm never pulled over for that, I'm not much of a person for disrespecting authority, but If an officer pulled me over for that shit I'd be fucking bent!

Did you catch that he's been fighting this since before 1991? More then thirteen years. It seems that if this were a wide spread problem, we'd be hearing more about it.

I think the ordinances are crap, but it looks as though most of you were in diapers when it was initially implimented. I've not been pulled over for cruising in the twenty+ years I've been driving (and I certainly cruise - often and blatently). Has anyone else here been hit with it?

I wonder if these ordinances are like the profanity laws most states have. Ones that usually aren't enforced unless there is are real problems with them. Not that I think they belong in any case, but perhaps thats why we haven't heard of it before now.

I cruise all the time. It's encouraged where I live at. We even have one of those hotdog places where you can pull up outside and the waitress comes to your car to take your order. They have a cruise night every Friday to draw more buisness. I have never had any problems.

Oh yeah! Sonic drive-ins kick ass! Same thing but with burgers. There's even a night a week here where a Sonic will give discounts to pre-70s cars that cruise in. I'm doin that whenever I get around to it!

HAHA. I obviously don't speak Russian, and that was the extent of my vocabulary. :p

I got that word from Colossus, reading X-Men, when I was a kid...

Such laws are usually a knee-jerk reaction to a localised problem by stupid local politicians who feel it is their job to solve the world's problems by passing more legislation.

There's already law in place to prevent antisocial behaviour. It's just a matter of using it wisely.Creating more laws will not stop those idiot few who cause the problems anyway.

This law is complete bullshit. But how the hell can they tell you're cruising. You could simply say you were just going to.....and name a place. Fuck the police and fuck the government, the more shit that happens the more I would rather die than live in this shit hole of a world.

I read that recently in my Car and Driver and was shocked by the absolute Bullshitism(is that a word?) of it. Its funny that the law was drawn up in California, where so many freedoms are rapidly being thrown out there. Somebody needs to fight this.

Once again, I'll point out that its been fought for over 13 years. This is not new news.

My friend and I where cruising down Sunset in Hollywood one day and I noticed a sign that said you can’t pass by this location more than twice within a two hour period. Or something ridicules like that. We didn’t take it seriously, but I guess some cops do.

luckily, I live here i kansas, which is practically, america's heartland.... there is a big section for cruises, and around the time that the O'reilly summer nats come here, there are always huge cruises and shows. thankfully with 2 raceways here, the art of cruising will be allowed for a long time.
