I've got a new civic and i am not too sure of installing mods in it yet. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether installing an air intake would void the car's warranty. The weird thing was that when I called one honda dealership, they were like dont do it, and another one I went to was selling it. So what should I do?

I had an Intake, Exhaust, and Fuel Controller on my hatch and they didn't void the warrently... The dealer has the descression to void the warrenty or not at will, they don't have any official guidelines they follow. And if it does void your warrenty, they cut you a check for the remaining amount, which I think is $400/year or something. So if you have two years left on your warrenty and you void it, they cut you a check for $800 to compensate.

Just a reminder to those concerned with your factory warranty. The clutch on a Honda is only covered for 12,000 miles despite the car's 36,000 mile claim. They consider the clutch an expendible part (i.e. wiper blades, brake pads). If you are persistent with the dealership and bug them enough sometimes they will replace it inside 36,000 miles, but that is their discretion. So if you're a high-revvin street racer, be prepared to purchase an aftermarket clutch.
