something has been bothering me for a long time, i once read in a magazine that skyline's have hidden hp inside, meaning they say if you know what your doing, without any upgrades you can turn it from 275 or whatever it is to up to 600hp. is this true, cause if it is, thats just simply put, amazing!! riddle me that.

Its wrong.
With Exhaust, intake, and a boost controller you can have about 370hp on the stock engine parts.

well this guy up here with a r33 skyline said he has 400hp and only exhaust and intake, and says he just did some tweaking to the engine and got more power than the 2 upgrades

only exhaust and intake...
tweaking the engine...
that's like reprogramming the computer, or tuning it.
of course there's "hidden" power in that aspect, without modifying the car.
600hp with no bolt on's? nope...
if your engine/ecu is not tuned to work with the aftermarket mods, you'll see great increases when you adjust the ecu to work with the mods.
not a difficult concept

skyline said he has 400hp
And theres the problem, I said to someone the other day that my Prelude has 200hp, yet it dosn't change the fact that I would be lucky if it has half that much.

Like moppie said, just because someone tells you, does not make it true. I doubt the guy has 400hp. He was rounding up :iceslolan

with BPU and hella-tuning (inc. timing, A/F, ya know the good stuff) im sure you could get close.. maybe freeze the intercooler, but like skiline said probably exaggerating a bit.. doesnt everyone. lol.

Exaggerating a bit? LMAO.
The factory turbo's are rated on the R32 and R33 at 220hp each. The factory injectors are 444cc. So even with the best ecu available, changing the front mount, exhaust, intake you won't even breech 475hp. Even the R34 is in capable with a factory engine to breech that.
