Daily driving w/ a light weight flywheel

Is it hard to drive daily with a light weight flywheel? i hear 9 pounders are hard but how is it with a 12 pounders??? Actually i wanna hear both stories w/ a 9 and 12 pounder

Light flywheels can be warped by getting them hot, the materials they are made of can't take as much heat as the heavy ones. So if you're sitting in a traffic jam or whatever with all that stop and go, it has the potential to warp. I don't know how many times this has happened to people, but you should know that can happen.

i think its the aluminum ones that are much more prone to warpage than say a lightened steel one or chromoly

did u have like any trouble when first driving it or did u get used to it real quick? is it harder to drive with or easier since the revs rise and drop so quick?

Is it the stock one or did you buy one? Is that the only benafit that it rev's faster? Dose it wear out the clutch faster? :sly: ..I mean is their and negative about it beside maybe getting to hot?

the fact that it would rev so quickly i think would make for a rougher engagement cuz the revs would drop down if you shifted slowly. the rpm's would drop lower before the clutch engaged for the slow shifting

I got use to it real fast and i upgraded my clutch at same time so yea it was rougher but i can shift it now being used to it even nicer then before. Yes the revs move quicker and i enjoy that even though it can be a pain in traffic.

so its like the gas pedal being super sensitive then. Also u mentioned shifting is more rough so it jerks more or something? Hows it like driving when starting from a stop? hard?
