I looking into buying a 1984 mustang GT turbo. Its only a 4 cyl. and i am not sure how it performs. I'm going to check it out soon and take it for a test drive but was just wondering what the performance of it is like.

hmm

to the best of my knowlege, the only foxbodies that came with a turbo 2.3 were the SVOs, and somebody correct me if i'm wrong but they only made those for a couple years ('85, '86). i think that GTs only came with 5.0s in any case.

anyway sounds like a decent buy whatever motor it is. what are you planning to do with it? make sure you get a GOOD look at the body and undercarriage and see that it has no rust before you buy.

not only the SVO came with a turbo 4 it was any option that any 4 cylinder can have my 79 mustang has a stock turbo it bosted hp from 88 to 143 witch is quite an improve ment the 4 banger is cheaper on gas so look into them u can get that same amount of power out of a 4 cylinder as a V8 plus beter gas millage.

Not bad for such a young noob! :bigthumb:

1984 inline 4 Turbo GT hatch
145hp at 4600 rpms
List price in 84 was $9,762
Factory weight was 2,753 pounds

Not a bad little car if the price is right.
