My friend and I were assigned a final project on car enthusiasts. I was wondering if anyone would give me information on why they are an enthusiast. Things such as why you have the car that you do, and so on. I would really apperciate it.

Thanks Caston Masters

I can't tell you why I'm an enthusiast since I've been a car nut since age 5. However, I can tell you why I like Buicks and own a Turbo Regal. I've always rooted for the under dog. In April of 1985, I saw a magazine that had a Buick GS 455 Stage 1 vs. a Plymouth Hemi GTX. I couldn't believe that the Skylark with a station wagon engine could even get close to the Rompin' Stompin' Hemi. Well, the GS won two out of two races. I then became a Buick fan. In April of 1986, Car and Driver featured an article on the 1986 Buick Grand National. It was as quick 0-60 as a Lamborghini Countach. Then, I rode in one. That did it, I was hooked.

I grew up in a car family, but me being the youngest and only girl,I'm sure my Dad didn't think it would rub off on me........well it did!!!
I even had a Barbie Vette, and wanted to paint it silver so it would look like my Dad's '78,lol.
As I got older(early teens),I started noticing cars more so,and what I really liked were GTO's and 442's.
Then I saw the movie Better Off Dead...OMG after I saw that '67 Camaro,I knew that is what I wanted.
When I was 16,my Dad bought a '69 for me to have when I turned 18(I had to pay for it,ofcourse),he sold that one,and when I was 19 I bought my '68.Six years later I sold it,and bought my dream car...1967 Camaro RS SS.
So anyways,if it wasn't for my Dad I probably wouldn't be that weird girl that is into cars, lol.
I guess I owe my Mom alot to for putting up with a not so girly girl that she probably was hoping for.
