That is the website for the crate engine i am thinking about putting in my 92 wagon. How much time is involved start to finish in this project? I have the stock 305 right now w/ 90k on it. I am not sure what i should do...try and get a little more HP out of it and drive it until it goes or go ahead and buy the crate and go all out from there...Any suggestions?

Depends on alot of factors. Are you going to keep it fuel injected? If so are you going to use a factory setup or aftermarket? There are many more factors than you probably think. I suggest you check http://www.impalassforum.com/ I garantee one of the guys there has done the swap or more ;)

Thanks for the reply first of all... I am just getting started in this field with my wagon but i am eager to learn. I will keep the factory EFI to start off with but eventually i will probably go aftermarket. Because of my limited knowledge i am forced to ask what can easily be "newbie" questions. I have a caprice sedan also '96 with the 4.3v8 equiped with the tuned port FI and even with the smaller engine the tuned port FI makes all the difference in the world. Given the wagon is a bit heavier, i would love to have the 5.7 with the tuned port but i don't know if that is even possible. I would imagine it is but again i am new to this. But i can say i have a definate love for the mid 90's models. I am going to look today at a 94 with some impala ss stuff already on it but it is not complete...somewhere in the middle of the project i am guessing...I will update on that when i know. I look forward to talk to all you guys at one time or another...forums are one of the best sources of info that i have found. Thanks again...

Chris
