sols have a very much cult following, and are loved by some people but hated by most... that said, you can get a sol and make it look pretty badass, but the "del slow" stigma still hovers around them. I don't know much about eclipses, but I wouldn't trade my sol for the world.
And don't street race... it's stupid and immature. Keep it at the track.

Hi, not sure if I can be of much help, but I owned a 92' Eclipse GSX (195 hp turbocharged, All Wheel Drive). In the short time owning it, I raced 2 Integras (94+). First time was getting onto a freeway: starting at 65mph, by the time I got to 90mph he was already 1.5 cars ahead of me. The AWD lag is pretty brutal at rolls and high speeds, I know the VR-4 suffers from it too.
Second race was about from 25 mph but by 55 he pulled hard and won.
My car was stock with K&N air filter.
Turbos are fun and all, but my question is will your races be from a stop or from a roll?

Well, you're kinda getting a one-sided argument here since you're asking this on the Del Sol forum. Of course we're gonna say get a Del Sol. I wouldn't let mine go for the world. As for the Eclipse though, unless you actually do swap in the turbo motor from Mistubishi they won't be quick. I've put a few GS and RS models in their place at the drag strip since I've had my Del Sol.
If you're gonna steet race in your new car, then get an Eclipse. That's one less Del Sol that might get destroyed or screwed up. You'll probably have an easier time finding Eclipses and parts for it over the Del Sol anyway.

I'll have to think about that one. I want to go, but I have to work tomorrow and with my current financial situation, I probably can't afford to skip out on it, although I might anyway. :p I haven't been up there since last season ended and I've been wanting to go back to see what I can run now that my car's in better shape than last time. Doubt I'll run though if I do go - need to conserve what tread's left on my tires plus I can't afford any problems if they occur; money's too tight at the moment to allow for breaking anything.
I'll shoot you a PM and see what we can come up with. :)
