I don't understand why Aoshima want to release 4 new wheels then discontinue them so quickly! I managed to get one set and the others on order were cancelled. There are no 19" wheels on the market, surely they realise that they would be a good seller. :screwy:

It's Aoshima's fault due to the way they manufacture and release the wheels. They're more concerned about the home market in Japan than anywhere else. Also, if they can maintain a good demand for the product, they can pick and choose how much to make and sell. They'll be back eventually.

That's just the way Aoshima makes their wheels. They produce large infrequent batches. When a batch is soldout, you just have to wait for the next batch (hopefully). I think there will be another batch (since the wheels were so well received), but you'll probably have to wait about 4-6 months.
US distributors have just recently gotten their shipments, so try places like Best1Hobby and such. They might still have some.

I'm personally not worried about it. Fujimi's AVS Model 5's were listed as dicontinued a couple of months back but were available again only a few days later. I thinks more down to HLJ's order system, listing them as discontinued is the only way they can stop people from placing orders when they know that they won't be receiving new for a few weeks. Don't think we'll be waiting 4+ weeks for these.

It's more to do with somewhat misleading status info in HLJ website. What they mean by discontinued is that their distributor runs out of a particular item, and HLJ doesn't know when they can restock it, so they have to stop taking orders. Technically, as long as Aoshima lists it in their catalogue, the item shouldn't be considered as discontinued.

Oh, that's how it works. I recently checked my account and although the wheels I ordered were discontinued, HLJ didn't remove it from my account, as opposed to the Hasegawa EVO III I ordered a long time ago, which they removed as soon as they found out that they couldn't get any more.

It is kinda A pain trying to get wheels, but you might give casting a try. I have spent a couple of months and a chunk of cash buying wheel sets that I like. Source E-bay and some of the guys here are willing to part with a set or two. I have even bought a couple of kits for wheel sets. Now I cast as many as I need. There is a great tutorial in the tip section.

This is silly, I just checked my HLJ account and the wheels that they said were discontinued are now in the Payment Process. Looks like HLJ remove them from their catalogue to stop people from ordering.
