98 remote control

The remote on my 98 Tahoe seems like it does not work properly. I have to get really close to the vehicle in order for it to unlock/lock the doors. Does ayone know what I could do.

I was also wondering if my lights are supposed to flash when I lock/unlock the doors. How can I make them flash?

Check the battery. If that doesnt work, it may be the transmitter. I recently bought a new remote on eBay and it works WWAAAAAAAY better than my old one!

I have a 97 and had the same problem.I took the remote apart and cleaned the little contacts inside with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol,then I took a soft lead pencil and "wrote" on the contacts so they have a better connection.It works just like new.
