New 1992 240sx SE: 3 problems

1) radio doesn't work, car did not come with any radio: my sony head unit and the factory radio fitted for the s13 base model (not SE model) do not work when plugged into the new car's harness
2) parking brake light in dash remains lit, even when brake is lowered

problems 1 and 2: fuse problem?

3) water pump needs to be changed (not really a mystery problem, just stating that)

the steering wheel is really worn too

any help with any of these problems would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks

umm... radio - check all wires
my brake light stayed on too, and it just didnt go down all the way, so push the button in, and lower it more, or you could take off the center console, i think 4 screws... and look at the switch. raise the brake so you can push the switch, then when you push it, check to see if the light turns off, if not, bad switch, loose wire, etc. not a big deal, your brake isnt stuck on, (at least lets hope not)

also check your brake fluid the light will come on if your low on fluid

Thanx for the help so far. brake fluid...i'll do that. yeah, that may be the problem cuz i remember checkin the fluids when i bought it and one of them was low.
i checked the wires on the radio according to installdr.com and they seem to match up. i guess i'll just have to get it professionally looked at unless someone can suggest somethin.

well always be sure to go back and double check and check all fuses

did u put the radio back in? or did u just conect the wires and test it out, it has to be connected to the metal, cuz there is not enough negative ground unless u put it back

ill tel ya what i did with my radio and the ground.

basically, if you look at the plug (from the reciever side) the top left wire, should be black, is your ground. just hook that up to some framing in the back, and you should be good to go. i have a sony, and all sony harnesses are the same.

My Brake Light stays on too... drive it for about 20 mins turn car off then back on and the brake light goes away....

And for radio... i ran a custom hot wire straight fron the battery for my radio

hehe, i took care of the 1st 2 problems (blown fuse for the radio and low brake fluid for the light) and found some new problems. rear speakers and the antenna don't work (tho I heard the antenna motor run when i first put the radio in) and my front speakers are pretty much blown. bought the service manual and plan to check this prob out myself. any other suggestions welcome too.
the water pump is gonna be changed friday, tho i think the guy is prob chargin too much for the part.

i replaced all of my speakers... they were all blown
I cut holes in the hatch cover and mounted them there
