We just bought a 91 caravan. Had a few problems but nothing we couldn't fix. And now I've run into a lil stopper. All at once the dash lights and the tail light quit working. Checked the fuses and found one blown so replaced it ad as soon as i turned on the headlights it popped again. I've also tried replacing the relay but it still pops the fuses as soon as you turn on the head lights. Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're gonna have to find the short to ground somewhere. You'll need a wiring diagram and a test light for a starter. Or, you can take it to a professional to find it for you!

did you ever fix this ???? Mine did the exact same thing ! Dash lights went out, and noticed my tail lights were out too !! fuse is a 4amp fuse and its not blown. however on testing the socket the fuse goes in, it has no power to the fuse ! anyone have any ideas on where to check for shorts or other fuses im not aware of ?? all other fuses in the fuse box located inside the van are fine. Thanks for any help youcan give.

if it has a trailer hitch, start back there first looking for a short.

"" fuse is a 4amp fuse and its not blown. however on testing the socket the fuse goes in, it has no power to the fuse"" the 4 amp fuse your talking about is for the dash lights and will not be powered untill you turn on the head lights. as far as the first post remove all tail and park (front) lamps ...install fuse ...then one at a time reinstall bulbs

I did test the 4amp fuse socket with the headlights on..it has no power at all... and it doesnt have a trailer hitch. I'm not sure where to look for loss of power to the 4amp fuse. I'm not sure if the parking lights are tied in with the fuse or not ??? it just happened that the dash lights went out the same time the tail lights did. I have headlights and brake lights but no parking lights. Turn signals work also. This problem has got me stumped. just wish i knew where to look ! thanks for your replies...
