top 5 favorite video games of all time

Hey have any of you played that Steel Battalion for XBOX? Its a $200 game, because it comes with this BADASS controller. It has 40 buttons on it. Its like your actually in the mech. There is system check buttons, pedals, gear shifting and a friggin eject button. Its awesome, but really hard at first...check it out http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/227919.asp

I apologize, when I said "Mechwarrior 2 is okay as a video game," I meant that it's transition from Computer game to video game system was adequate. Don't get me wrong, I fuckin' LOVED that game. :evillol: I actually owned it for Macintosh, and I consider it one of the best shooter games for a computer with no graphics card. I fell in love with the sweeping, moving orchestral score, and I want my own Timberwolf. :iceslolan

I just bought Mechwarrior 3 Gold and I'm actually very impressed with the game.

Anybody ever played a game called "Deus Ex"? I'm in love with that game too.

Oh, OK didn't get what you meant intially. If you'll look at my top 5 list a few pages back you will see Deus Ex sitting there at #4 ;) I beat that game SIX TIMES. I found EVERYTHING and I loved it each time through. Did you play the sequel? DON'T. It will make you vomit and cry.

yea those strippers were funny. When u killed em a bunch of money would fly everywhere. Those movie posters and stuff were also funny.

My fav game now is NBA street vol 2, anyone play that??? That game is the shiznit, though it can get very frustrating when ur friend holds the ball when you get a gamebreaker or when your gamebreaker shot gets blocked. Also turbo blocks, those are super annoying!! Though it's always fun to do it to your friend :)

That's way too bad. :banghead: Dues Ex is one of the most underrated games of all times. The envorinment is soo FREAKING deep and realistic.

When you were in Hell's Kitchen, did you go by the fences where those NSF troops were harassing the homeless guy? You can pick up the basketball and actually shoot hoops! :iceslolan If you make a basket, it says "Sign him up for the knicks!" That's just the tip of the iceberg on how well written and interactive that game is.

So what did they do wrong with Deus Ex 2? Don't be afraid to give spoilers if you can't help it.

Deus Ex 2 was just a console game. The AI is actually WORSE than #1. It's absolutely pathetic. The environments are claustrophobic and boring; pathetic level design and lame puzzles. The game is just too damn easy. The absolute worst offense was the unified ammo system. Each and every weapons uses the SAME AMMO. So your dart gun uses the same ammo as a FLAME THROWER. Somehow they thought this would be a GOOD idea. :sly: Only thing I liked was how they tied in the 3 endings from the first into the story line of this one. Finally the gameplay lasts 10 hours AT MOST. 10 hours!!!

The best part of the game is uninstalling it from your computer.

I'll second the Atari picks, with Empire Strikes Back, Master Blaster and Quest tacked on.

Once again, that game is NOT Quake 3 (screenshot).

speaking of pacman, i played that game about a year ago and realized how fun that game is. though it was ms pacman for snes, it is still fun as hell, once it starts getting hard :smile:

no, quake 2 actually looks extremely good for a game that came out in mid 1997, course it depends on what graphics card you got, and it's barely debatable that Quake 3 will rape basically any other new game (except for Half life 2)

Thanks for the info MBTN. I guess I wont buy it then. 10 hours? fuck that. I loved that fact (AND IT DROVE ME CRAZY!!) that the missions for deus ex took basically took a hour each! Well whatever maybe they will make a 3rd one. :dunno:

Man I've played so many games in my time, still do now (Destiny BETA FTW!) but I've got a clear top 5.

1. Call of Duty 2 - PC (The first online FPS I playes, it blew me away. The new CODs are dire compared to this and the first. Wish they would revisit WW2)
2. Tekken 3 - PS1 (Broke a controller trying to beat True Ogre, did it in the end)
3. Need For Speed Underground - PS2 (Hopefully don't need to give reasons for this, best Need For Speed game ever made IMO. 350z was the best car)
4. GTA San Andreas - PS2 (Most balanced GTA game ever IMO, so much fun as well)
5. Age of Empires 2 - PC (Wasted literal days on this picking berries and building walls. Masterful RTS game)
