Got myself a cracked manifold, about 1 1/2" long, in the front, under the water jacket. Tried to epoxy it with a 2 part epoxy and an aluminium plate clamped under it, epoxy bonded to the aluminium plate real well! but not to the manifold. Im sure this can be repaired if I can find out what type of polymer or plastic this manifold is made of so I can use the right adhesive to repair.
Anyone having any experience with this problem, your thoughts or ideas sure would be appreciated, thanks

i would leave it alone and get a new manifold, i've heard that the plastic doesn't bond well with anything. try finding a 99+ Mustang GT and swap/buy that manifold and slap that mofo on. you'll definitely get a performance improvement out of it.

There is a recall on 96 and 97 TBirds with the 4.6L engine due to intake manifolds that crack. You just might be able to get a new manifold for free! Call your local Ford dealer and ask about this recall. This recall is for engines built at certain plants-not all 4.6L engines.

You CANNOT repair it with anything. It's been tired thousands of times using everything from adhesives to welding, nothing will work.
On the up side, if you swap on a GT intake, you should see a significant HP increase. Yes the ports don't match exactly so you have to cut a custom gasket, but it's WORTH IT!
