Hello all! I did a search on "datalogger" within this forum and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am interested in purchasing one of the above mentioned 3. I realize that DSM Link requires a EPROM ECU (Which I do not have...nor do I want to spend the $350 on). Could I buy one from a junkyard and have it socketed as listed here? http://www.extrememotorsports.com/g2cat/ecu.htm Scroll down about ½ way. Most of the other software I located is designed to be used with a Palm Pilot, which I do not own. I do have a laptop but I can't seem to find anything for under $200. Last question....Is it worth me purchasing anything but DSM Link if I don't have a way to tune the car?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

Do you really want to buy a palm, and then have to buy a pocketlogger, and S-AFC to tune with for 200 + 150 + 350 = 700?
Or you could get an EPROM off www.dsmtrader.com for <250 + 600 = 850
Remember this is all for new (except eprom) so the difference between the two will be less than 100 bucks if you buy used parts.
Oh yeah, and DSMlink is way better.

DSMlink will let you tune the car, meaning adjust things, and datalog the results so you know what to change. Any other datalogger will still require some type of fuel control to make your changes as you suspect. Thats where Joes example comes in and the costs start to add up. But people have run 10s on AFC and pcoketlogger. 11.1 2 years ago at least, so I assume someone has done 10s by now. I did fine with AFC/pocketlogger/TMO chip myself. DSLink is better though. I paid 200 for my eprom ECU. You can get them from the junkyard if they have a 95 that has one. I woudlnt pay 350 for one...
