Just got a 1988 F250 deisel ford that seems to be very hard to start in the morning but the rest of the day I just wait for the light to go out and it starts within a second
But in the morning its will the batteries die or will it start. Stopping and glowing it 4 or 5 times waiting 2 minutes between glows
I did run it out of deisel driving it home so not sure if this was there before
What action would you take
I was going to replace filter, then check glow plugs with the light between wire and plug test if light is bright will say plug is okay or should I just replace them
Help first deisel

One bad glow plug at 50*F, and you may or may not get it started. By 30*F, your dead in the water.
I would start by checking the glow plugs. Connect the clip end of a test light to a +12V source, and remove the glow plug connectors, touch the pointed end of the testlight to ONLY the very tip of the glow plug. If it lights, that plug is OK (sure they *can* short out, but it's VERY RARE). I suspect you will find one, if not more that do not light the light.
