what would be some of the better ways of going about squeezing as much hp and torque as i can for my truck, the lil' 4cyl, 2.2litre 2000 s-10. I already have a KN fipk cold air intake on it. what else can i do?

it always comes down to what you want to spend, the cheaper of them would be a computer upgrade or bigger exahust or a header, if you want to spend a little more you could get the head planed for higher compression and get the rotating assmbly balanced along with the computer reprogrammed and free flowing exahust. theres so much that can be done but it can be quite $$$ if you can't do alot of the mechanic work yourself.

the s10 booklet says 120hp@5000rpm's & 140lbs torque. I really don't think mine is that bad. But that's a vortec for ya.

Just to let you know I still have my upgrade chip from Jet. Didn't seem like it really helped anything. But while I had my S-10 xtreme it had a very reliable engine (albeit slow) compared to my new car. Nissan Spec V. Tried that Tornado crap too. Didn't help. If you want some real speed, do some major upgrades like intake and header upgrade. Possibly even bore it out. :flash:

cuz the crank goes in then with very little abuse, besides that your right the 2.8 is a good motor, its just not for me :P i turned my bearings into tinfoil in only 5000km. btw whats your 2.8 in? the 2.8 in a rwd is what goes bad fast, the fwd cars seem to last a hell of alot longer

ya mine is in a rwd s-10, 88, but i did replace the crank and since then it has been perfect, i replaced it at about the 88k mark, and now i am at like 104 and it runs great, it does have a few electrical probs, but as far as power goes i have agood amount of t it seems to me, althought i have driven faster cars i think my truck does really good compare to wut alot of ppl say.
