no spark after engine rebuild

my wife recently blew the timing chain on her 96 sunfire, ultimately blowing the engine. i removed the engine and completely rebuilt it from the block up. reinstalled the engine and all parts in their original spots, but now the theft system light is on and i have no spark at all. she does not have the original key that came with the car. any advice on how to get spark back?

If the theft light is on, you may need the dealer to help her get a key and have it "relearned", so it will start the car. The theft may be disabling some signals so it won't start. Not sure if that's it, but it's an idea.

You turn your key to the on position for 15 minutes and the passlock system should relearn it
