Hello peoples, i am building this iTR for my bro's friend. So far i lowered the car, made a catback N1 style exhaust, painted rotors, painted chassis. It is going to be painted Tamiya Racing white with gold painted rims. After i lowered the car it made it look alot more agressive. In the 3rd pic it is the stock height of the rear before i lowered it. Tell me what you guys think. Thanx

Yeah its a must lower car... idk why they make a racing car so high anyway... and also no body kit, i dont really like showy cars, i only like simple clean body work, im more of a racing performance guy. :iceslolan

I like but, don't understand why you angled the exhaust. in the real world, you wouldn't do that. all that extra bent piping would restrict exhaust flow causing rpm to rise slower. You may not think it'd make a difference, lets say 1/10th of a second in a 1/4 mile run. That 1/10 of a second could mean the difference between the winner and the loser.
Anyway....isnt racing white a creamy color? that's what your going for, or were you going for the pure white look? Either way, it's an awesome looking car, dropped, nice muffler, btw, the can looks a little 'long', but it's cool either way.

dude, theres no way that by have a bent muffler would add 1/10 of sec to ur quartermile, kinda OT, but that one extra bend in the piping isn't going to have that big of an effect...
anyways i see people all the time with bent exhausts in order to make something fit

I guess I shoulda just not said anything, but your right on piping like 2.5 like that no dif, but on the stock size @1.25 or 1.5 it probably would deplete you by at least 1/32 of a second.

You probably dont know but, angled called (Mandral) piped exhausts are better because the air flow easier & flows better, if you dont think that is true you can call up Apexi, HKS, GP Sports, and alottttt more companies that make angeled exhausts, and ask them. ahahahahahahahahaha also i dont like drag racing.. i like roadracing and circuit. :p

Nice progress Shorty.....
Though it is a model and no should care 86SR5 is correct in some aspects. A lot of bends in the exhaust can be restrictive even with mandrel bent pipes. Angled mufflers are meant for straight through exhausts. N1 style cat-backs have the fewest bends for optimal high-end power (i.e.-for high rev racing).
Street exhausts like the Greddy SP or Apex-i Dunk use mandrel bends and mimic the stock exhaust route. This adds power throughout the powerband, low to high in very small amounts. The straighter the exhaust the more top end you gain and the more low end power you lose. It's always a compromise with aftermarket parts.
In turn Shorty your exhaust is a street exhaust with an N1 look. The bend isn't necessary for that application as you can see it would be more beneficial to go straight instead of angled but the look is good.

Straight piping will flow better than curved, but mandrel bent is very nicely done, no bumps or kinks. Anyway, why did you angle the muffler when it could've been straight?

angled mufflers just look cool. most drift cars have an angled muffler. and to be totally correct a DC2 ITR has a 52mm exhuast (just over 2") and a Vtec engine reponds well to 2 1/4-2.5" pipes as it doesnt restrict their rev happy nature. sorry bout being off topic.
that teg looks good.

Thanx for telling them Andrew.
I got some time to work on it, i finished up the suspension and interior. My bro's friend just wanted a full black interior so i did what he wanted. I am also going to paint the exhaust black aswell. Next thing i have to do is primer and paint the rims gold and prep the car for the paintjob. Tell me what you guys think.

Suggestion...how about trimming out the front grilles and pushing the radiator forward and adding some pipes for that turbo look?
I agree drifter_x, I suck too, can't get a real sideways drift.

As i said before im not going to cut out the front grill. Also im not that ghetto to use a radiator as a wannabe intercooler. Im going to make a new one with pipes to put in front of the radiator.

two questions:
1. Where did you get the te37s?
2. Did you brush or spray the interior? It looks really clean.

Just wet sanded the car today and masked front lip, lights, lip and trunk so it wont get a heavy coat of Racing White when i spray the car.
