Please Help, my m8 has a small problem!

Hi All,

OK, the car in question is a UK - 325i Coupe on a 93 K plate.

Recently his water pump went and he had it replaced at the dealership.

Today he has noticed that his coolent level has dropped so that the expansion tank is empty.

What we need to know is, what colour of Anti-freeze should we be using. Red or blue. I've heard that using the wrong type can screw the head or other parts of the engine so any help you can provide will be much appricaiated.

Never heard anything about the color of the antifreeze mattering... but mine is green. Did they replace the impeller in the water pump with the metal one instead of the plastic one that originally came in it?

No idea on the new impeller type.

He is now going to just top it up with water and take it into BMW this morning for them to sort out.
