Radio controls on steering wheel

I just bought a 94 Firebird with 27,000 mile (not a typo) It has a 3.4 V6 engine with Automatic Trans. The radio controls on the steering wheel do not work, this car was stolen before and i'm not sure if it still has the air bag. It has a cassette radio with i think 8 speakers, sounds great. How can i find out what the problem is?

Unless you are very familiar with and have worked around airbags in the past, I suggest you take the car to a garage and have it fixed. You don't want to be sitting there with your arms in front of your face, working on the steering wheel and have the bag go off. You will think Tyson (in his prime) just hit you with a left and a right (and maybe some tools too).

You should see an airbag light flash 8 times when you turn the car on- If it does the airbag system is supposed to be working right IE air bag is installed correct/installed at all

Steering wheel controlls to me have aways been crap in 1st place
good luck in trying to fixit also the controlls will only work with the GM stock radio not an after market 1 maybe it was stolen and replaced?

To be postive airbag is there and works give your buddy 10$ to drive into a tree over 15MPH :)
