Hi, I just got a 2000Gts and unless I basically gun it I can't shift from first to second without going through neutral. Is this something the car does or is something in the transmission messed up. Thanks, Travis.

If the car won't engage in 2nd at all, you are probably revving way too low and engaging the 1-4 skip shift. There should be no problem of hitting 1st to 2nd. 2nd to 3rd is a fairly long throw and 3rd to 4th is goofy because it lines up right down the spine of the car (unlike the other gears that are slanted towards the driver.
You can remedy this by getting a B&M or SVSi short shifter. The B&M is a more comfy dampaned feel, versus the SVSi which is made out of solid billet aluminum (which I have). I prefer a very precise notchy feel when the gear engages. I also have a Husrt T-shifter handle because it has worked for me in all of my cars on the weekends at the local road racing venues.
As far as the skip shift eliminators are concerned, you can buy them from a variety of Viper vendors. On the older GTS's and RT's all you had to do was unplug it at the transmission. Mine has been unplugged since day 1.
I hope that this helps.
