Okay, this is gonna be a somewhat long post, and it is really just to get advice, opinions and any other help i can get.
This spring break(in two weeks for me) I plan on doing some work on my car and gettin some things done.
1) Subframe connectors:
this is the first on the list, the numero uno, I am getting these done no matter what. I was planning on just getting standard length subframes but it was recommended to me that since I have a convertible to get the full lengths. So I plan on geting Maximum Motorsports full lenght subframes.
2) Capacitive Discharge Box:
I am not sure which one to get. I know that i would rather not get the MSD 6A box becuase it is analogue and i would rather get something with a bit newer technology. So I was thinking Crane Cams HI-6 box. When i called this peformance shop they recommended Mallory Ignitions' box. The Malloy igntion box is good, and goes from more degrees of crankshaft rotation (22 vs 20). The only thing is that it does not have a built in rev-limiter. My problem is that I am not sure i understand what the purpose of a rev-limiter is or if i need to mess with that. Also any opinions on which one you think is better.
3) Coils
To go along with the CD box, I am gonna get a new coil, what I am wondering is can i choose the coil independant of the box. For instance could i use a Crane Cams coil with the mallory ignition, or an MSD coil with the crane cams igntion, etc.
Again, any suggestion here woudl be good too.
Thakns for all the help

he who removes rev limiter today removes engine tomorrow
without one, you'll find yourself picking up powdered connecting rods up off the ground. it stops the engine from spinning too fast, which would otherwise destroy it very quickly.
from what i can tell, 90% of the guys out there use the MSD (aka Multiple Spark Discharge) 6AL box, the Blaster SS coil, and if necessary the 3-stage limiter. the 6AL ignition uses a rev limiter which drops spark to random cylinders for one stroke and then ignites them on the next stroke to prevent fuel accumulation. this limiter is controlled by small plug-in module with the RPM written on it, or by a box that takes its place and carries 3 or these modules for more flexible limiting. this is called soft-touch rev control because it's not as harsh as most controllers. the blaster SS is capable of extremely high RPMs (more than you'll probably ever use) and is very durable. coupled with the MSD pro-billet distributor you have a pretty much invincible iginition system, analog or not
as far as subframes goes, definitely get the full-lengths. i'll use those on mine, and it's not a convertible. you can get them from maximum motorsports, upr products, or Steeda, the latter being very high-end.

okay, i understand it stops the engine from spinning too fast, but why do people set it at like 3,000 rpm. Isn't that really low, the engine itself redlines at around 5800 or so, so why limit it so low.

a 3000 rpm limiter would probably be part of a multiple-stage system that uses different limits for different situations. an example would be a guy who knows he has to launch at a certain rpm, but doesn't have the skill and/or patience to find exactly to put the pedal. having a limit right at the launch point would eliminate that worry. this is more true for a manual trans than an auto, which locks up the converter at a specific RPM anyway (not a very good desc). once the launch is over, the limiter would switch to the next stage, allowing full use of the motor's pontential rpms

ah.i see. i see.....
mmm...I can see how the rpm rev limiter is useful then, but i am don't see that it is usefull for me. I don't really race (like not official drag racing or anything), so I have no specific needs for launching and such. The reason I am asking so much is becuase the Crane Cams HI-6 comes in with a built in rev limiter that I can adjust, while the Mallory is about 40 bucks cheaper and comes recommended, but has no such limiter and I am not sure if for my needs I need the limiter.
If it is just better to have one, then I don't mind so much the 40 bucks.
