Keyless Entry Programming 1999 GMC Sierra

I lost my Keyless remote and purchased a used one on-line. The instructions with it start by saying #1) " with the ignition off, hold down the unlock button, turn the ignition on & off two times, release the unlock button and the locks will then cylcle. #2) It then says to hold down the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote for 15 seconds and when the vehicle learns the new remote it will lock and unlock. Step #1 did not work so naturally neither did step #2.

I then went back on-line and found instructions which basically said the same thing except that you had to pull fuse # 17 ( radio ). This did not work either.

I recently put a new battery in the truck and am wondering if something else has to be re-set??

The remote is # 15732803.

turn ign on hold lock and unlock button at the same time until the door lock cycle then release buttons

Stand Near The Vehicle With The Doors Unlocked And With The Drivers Door Open. Hold Down The Lock And Unlock Buttons On The Remote For Approx. 7 Sec.'s ...when The Door Locks Cycle On And Off....release The Buttons....test!

He Probably got them from E-Bay like I did. Paid $15.00 for mine

i just sold the same remote and people tellin me that didnt work for them whats going on is this not the right way to proggram it? or they just dont know what they doing... please help out

The procedure is correct. There may be another problem with the electric locks.

Open and close the drivers door three times, turn the key to the on position, push gas peddle to the floor and hold it there, push dome override twice. Then stand on your head while pushing both buttons on the remote. Oh yeah, and the volume on the radio must be at max too!! (LOL, I have no idea... but thats what all this sounds like!!!)
