I Got a Pulsar the other day 84 model (ET same as an exa) And the piece of crap will start but as soon as i let the key go back on to the run position on the ignition it stops, if i keep my finger on the start it will run and i can rev it up to 4000 rpm so its not just running on the starter. i have checked the resistor on the ignition. i did a test on the computer and it tells me i have a air flow meter fault, an air temp fault, and a system voltage fault. but i tested all these circuits and they came up ok, can anyone out there help me please.

Mate, i think i had the same problem with mine, the thing would start and not hold idle...i tried everything, evne had an injector guy look at it it for ages and still no good, till i tried replacing the idle control switch, (the black box on the throttle body) and since changing that i have had no such problems. it was the best 20 bucks i have spent. give that a try. hope i helped!!Andy.

Thanks For that man, Just the other day i got it going finally. I sent the computer away to get tested (they told me there was nothing wrong with it) they sent me a new one just to test and see if it made a difference, it did. it started strait up but it still runs like crap, i can only hold the throttle 1/4 on otherwise it floods. but i was under the bonnet and i could hear something shorting out and it sounded liek it was comeing from in that throttle position sensor ( idle control valve) so i pulled it out and if its only worth $20 then what the hell ill change it. By the way where did you get your's from? Thanks again
