Engine Overhaul

I was looking for a used 3000GT SL and found a nice one, but it has more than 120k miles on it.
I think it may need an engine overhaul. What do you think?
Also, how much willl it cost to overhaul its engine?
Your advice will be appreciated.

Without seeing/hearing the engine I don't think we can tell you if it needs an overhaul or not. If you can do the work yourself and the car is well priced, it would be worth it. The engine doesn't need to be rebuilt based on only 120K though. Many people have gone 60-70K more then that without having to do it.

I don't know for sure, but a shop would probably charge a couple grand to do the work. You might want to call around to get some prices.

Thanks for the reply. I am in the process of looking for my first car. I don't have no knowledge of rebuilding an engine. I want a 3000GT that runs good for a while, so buying a car with many miles and overhauling its engine in one option, if the total price is less than a similar car with low mileage.
