i was goin at it w/ a mustang gt for several lights.... when i stopped at a red after a few lights, i saw smoke or steam coming from the passenger side of the hood. i freaked out and turned into a parking lot. everything seems ok. i was cruising the city streets for about 30 minutes before i met the mustang. any inputs?... is there something wrong? some inputs ?...... heh....

For some reason, I don't think your engine is supposed to smoke...but that's just me...

Steam is escaping hot coolant. If your coolant is getting too hot, (overheating), it will increase the pressure of the cooling system and the radiator cap will leak excess pressure depending on the rating of the cap (eg. 1 bar). The specific reason your car was leaking coolant I do not know.

yea it could be your coolant from overheating. i had a similar prob to with my car and it turned out to be the exhaust gaskets were shot.it was leaking bad enough that almost all my exhaust was comin out under the hood instead of into my pipe. if your car seems louder than normal this is the problem most likely. but to make this story short once i replaced my exhaust gasket the problem quit so i say look into that to.
