400 sml blk max power

hey fellas just curious, how much power can u thorw at a 400 small block till u split the block. absulute max, and it has a 4 bolt main cap

this doesn't mean your 400sb will make these exact numbers....but i've heard about them making up to 500hp. pick up a super chevy/hotrod/whatever magazine...they're always building up 400sbs.

I recently saw a 400 sb wiuth twin turbos on it! rediculous power with a old iron . although he was running forged internals. I think that question can be answered the same way all are answered how much do you want to spend$$$$$$$$$$$$=HP


As far as the physical limitations of the block no idea but in High school my friend used to spray his 400 sb firechicken with alot of nitrous with no problem

are u talking about like with a stock bottom end? If you were to put an eagle kit and stroke the thing it's capable of 700-800hp easy. My friend runs a d-stroked 400 in his vega right in that HP range.
