Not much of an eclipse person myself so I need a little help on this one. Can you swap a 2.4 out of an 96' and put in to a 95', it had the 420a motor previously. Any information will be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin

Are you talking about takeing a 2.4L neon engine and replacing the 2.0 eclipse engine?

Do you mean a 2.4 4G64 from a spyder?

Yes the 4G64, the "G" vin code. Not sure what its out of as far as being a spyder or not? Its got just under 100k miles and runs perfect, whats it worth?

Is it more screwing around than its worth? I'm possibly buying the car with no motor/trans and have a line on a 2.4. I'm mainly buying the car to drive around and then sell? What is the motor worth with the miles?
Thanks,
Justin

Dunno what the motor is worth. But it is not going to be easy... your going to need to do a lot of custom work with it.

I can tell you this much, NO motor is worth a swap if your planning on selling the car already. The 2.4 liter is worth the screwing around with especially, mainly because between that and the 2.4, they engine is in on opposite sides of the engine bay. Like Chavez said... if you have a connection on the 2.4, take the Spyder it came with...

I would have but the spyder was hit hard in the back, thats why I have a line on the motor out of it.

I'm just trying to get this figured out.....in 95' there was the 2.0 with and without a turbo? In 96' there was the same with the addition of the 2.4? As far as which side the motor is mounted on with turbo cars the motor is on the driver’s side and non-turbo are on the passenger Side? I took a look at some pics and that’s what I got from a quick glance.

I looked a little more and it seems that the 2.4 only came in spyders(conv.) and is mounted on the drivers side also. Is that correct for 95-99's. Why did they mount them different like that, from a 2.0 w/w/o a turbo to the 2.4?
Thanks again,
Justin

Dont bother i just did a swap, from a 7bolt to a 6 bolt. And trust me you do not want to do that, it would take you more man hours than you everwant to put into a car, and it is more than likely not possible.

oh anything is possible but this swap is just a waste! if i were you i and you really wanted to do the swap i would buy a turbo motor, that way your car will be quicker and worth more, most likely sell faster too if it had the turbo on it! remember if you do end up doin the 2.4l swap you need everything in the engine bay, including the wiring and computer and tranny! thats the main reason its so hard to do! good luck!
