Anti-theft, dome light, clicker

NOTE: I DO NOT HAVE THE FACTORY CLICKER FOR THE CAR, TO OPERATE THE DOOR LOCKS, BUT IT DOES HAVE ELECTRIC LOCKS AND WINDOWS

1) Having a problem with the dome light. Works fine with the switch on the dome light, but will not come on with any door opening (checked to make sure dome light switch was in the proper position). Fuses seem ok, and everything else works ok, except the rear hatch light doesn’t work either. Door switches seem ok. Read somewhere (owner’s manual, I think) that this car has an 8 or so minute timer on the dome light, so that if a door is left open, it will shut off the dome light by itself. Could this timer be bad, and if so, where in the world is it? Also, are these clickers very expensive, if the Ford dealer or someone sells them?

2) Anyone know anything about the anti-theft alarm on this vehicle? While I was fooling around with the door switches the factory car alarm went off. First time I was pushing the door buttons in and out, just the ‘THEFT’ light on the dash came on, but the second time the lights flashed and the horn went off until I unhooked the battery cable. Found out later that just turning the ignition key to on should turn it off also.

Thanks in advance,
The Kid

Nope. My guess is the door switches need cleaned or replaced.
