Which is faster in the 1/4 mile? I know.

Hi , I dont own a mustang , however Ive driven most of them.
I remember when the dealership got a Bullit mustang and i took it for a rip. I rather enjoyed the overall performance of that disturbed primate.
I also drove a 2001 svt cobra just recently and could not tell the difference in power compared to the bullit. The Mach 1 had a bit more noticable power when i got moving.

My wonders of which of the three was quicker accelerator in 1/4 , and the result was the mach 1. But I couldnt tell between the bullit (16valve 4.6) and the cobra (32valve 4.6) , so i did some arguing with the tecs at work. They told me the cobra was quicker all the way , cus it has 32 valves , but i proved them wrong. The bullit was quicker on the quarter mile by .2 of a second but was almost 3mph slower at reaching the 1/4 mile.102mphBULLIT 104.5mphCOBRA. Bullit got a 13.66 second 1/4 mile Cobra got 13.88 seconds quarter mile but hit 2.5 mph more speed when it got there. I did some research and the cobra was just kicking in at that point were as the bullit was working harder.
The thing that made the cobra slower at the start were the bbk springs?
Thats what ford performance was sayin in the overall review.

i think you should have a tech at work take out a cobra, and you take out a bullit and do a little racing on a backroad :) only way to know for sure, right?

Well thats where the argument went , I drove the bullit and kept kicking his ass. He beat me once cus I put it in 3rd like a moron but when i put it back i was less than a car length behind him and did notice him pulling away quite quickly near the end , it was exhilerating.

so its true that if you work at the dealership you can take any car out?

only if the owner lets you lol , we have a track near here for test drives , it is a drag track only cost 20 dollars a day. The tec owns the cobra and the bullit was my bosses(owner of the dealership) i wouldnt use a unsold vehicle cus thats unfair to misuse a vehicle and sell it.

Well , lets put it this way , i can make the dealership up to 5,000 dollars a day workin my ass off , so my boss respects me and lets me try things out , its just a car man. He drives a modified T-Bird now. Yes the T-Bird is much quicker than the 3 mustangs and slays in the quarter mile. 12.8

Sounds to me like you just quoted the Aug 03 issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords, and actually have no first hand experence which you have just led everyone to believe you did.

Yes I did get that information from that excact magazine at first. But the tec at work was all high on his cobra and for some reason didnt agree with that information (think he was stuborn) but I have drivin most all mustangs even a few classics.

isn't the bullit a A GT with different trimmings and stuff? doesn't it still have only 260hp? You should notice a huge difference in power between that and the cobra...I worked at a dealership myself, just as a lot boy, and i used to beat the living shit out of every car that came into my hands.. Not for nothing, but techs and ppl that work at dealerships don't know crap about cars.. They just know how to fix them.. Half the time they don't even do that right... i know this kid whos dating my best friends sister.. He will be a certified mechanic in april, he is the biggest jack ass.. He looked at my car when i first got it and he pored antifreeze from my car on his finger and kept sniffing it like it was some important thing.. then he said i had a 460.. he didn't know the difference between a 4.6 liter engine and a 460 cubic inch engine.. And he's gonna work on ppl's cars someday ha!

The bullit had like 300hp Im pretty sure.

The Bullitt made 269 HP.

Bullitts has a different intake. Im sure the rating is around 275 at the flywheel. The DOHC makes its power in high rpms, the SOHC makes more power down low(even though it doesnt feel like it) Ive beaten a couple of 4vers on the street but on the highway they just start pullin :eek:

well, from a dead stop, at lets say a stop light, is drivers race.. the launch is a not so easy thing to pull off so i believe you did take some 4vers, but lets not bullshit each other here.. a Cobra can murder a GT, and bullit.. theres just no arguing the fact..
