Altima fuel fill problem

Having a problem with filling the gas tank on a 1998 Nissan Altima. Had the car serviced at a garage and it was fixed, an evap valve mechanism of some kind in the tank that opens and closes. The problem came back a short time later and the garage says it will probably keep coming back unless we replace other parts including getting a new tank from a newer Altima. I guess the early 1998 Altimas are cursed with this problem? Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, has anyone found a simpler solution? The garage said the problem had to do with this evap valve mechanism and the shape of the tank.?.? This problem is very annoying, it takes 15 minutes or so to fill the tank, if you go faster than a trickle, the fuel sprays back at you! Any ideas would be appreciated.

i have seen one of the evap lines become pluged on this car that causes this problem. Was this a nissan dealer that worked on your car?

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with my 98' Altima. So have you figured out what the problem is?
