2002 6speed Trans.

Hello All,
I've Got An 02 Vette With A 6-speed. Anytime I Am Done Driving And Put The Shifter In Nuetral, When I Release The Clutch There Comes A Noise That Sounds Like Something I Rattling In The Trans.. As Soon As I Put The Clutch In, The Sound Goes Away. Also, If I Leave The Clutch In Nuetral And Shut Off The Car, It Makes A Knock Sound As The Engine Shuts Off. Has Anyone Experienced These Same Noises And Is This Common. This Is My First Vette.

Some noise is normal from these transmissions. It's the nature of the beast.

More than likely your condition is normal, unless you have some other information or an update?

I've got an 03 vette with a manual trans that does the same thing. It's actually pretty common with manual transmissions. When i first purchased the car i wonder the same thing myself and took it in to the dealer to have it looked at and everything was fine.

I bought an 89 Vette 5 months ago with 15,000 miles on it. After driving it about 1,000 miles I started hearing a knock at warm idle. The knock kept getting louder and starting earlier (I used to have to drive 30 miles or more before it started knocking, now only 5 miles). It knocks weather the clutch is in or out, in gear or out. The knock goes away when clutch is let out in gear. This is a 6 speed with the 1 to 4 solenoid disconnected.
