HS CAI.....Winter Proof?

I was looking into getting a HotShoit CAI but have heard about floods, water etc..............Up here around Toronto we usually have some pretty good winters going. Is it safe to drive around in the winter with the CAI. I'm thinking slush and snow could get up there.

I think it would be pretty resistant to it, if you still have the splashguard on. The bottom of the filter sits about half way up the fog light opening on my car, so it's a couple inches off the splash guard. Water would have to be almost all they way up the filter for it to suck water up, and that'd be most of the way up the bumper (i'd guess). But... to be safe, i'd say if you have slush up to the bottom of your bumper, or fog light opening, i'd probably stick with a POP, or get a aem bypass valve added to your CAI.

any Canadian guys have trouble with a CAI....I just wanna make sure I get what it is right for me.

Well its just a judgement call... the CAI will get you 3 or 4 more HP over the POP.

Is the risk worth it to you?


Personally I have a CAI, and when I turbo my car it will have the filter in the same place it is now :eek: ...but then again I wont be driving it in the snow or anytime there's heavy rain. :rolleyes:
