Hello,
I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with 88,000 miles. Just inthe past 2 months I have had issues when the cruise control is on and set at any speed, that the engine RPM will raise up around 200-400 RPM for arouond 2-3 seconds then drop back down to the normal rpm. It does this about every min or so. It also does it when the cruise is off. Withthe issues I have read about the trannies in these things I'm thinking it mught be the tranny, but I don't know. Then tonight it was doing it when I started my truck in park, so I think it might be something else.
Could somebody give me some advise on this? Could it be a speed sensor?

When I started reading that, I thought maybe it was just the torque converter unlocking, something that happens as you approach a hill or some place where more power is needed. When I got to the part about it doing it with the truck in park, I don't know about that...
