Dual Exhaust for a '96 V6

My dad is thinking about getting dual exhaust for his '96 Stang. Where can you find a GT conversion kit at for a reasonable price? I checked with Cal. Mustang, but they're pretty pricey.

how in the hell? what the hell you gonna do with dual exhaust? use a cat back system that will make it look like a dual exhaust instead or your gonna have to dish out some coin to get a custom job.

Actually no! There are many company's that make h-pipes designed for the V6 Mustang, then a GT catback system fits without a problem.

I believe Pacesetter and MAC have what your looking for, as well as others that I can't remember off hand.

ok but whats the point? Dont get me wrong , More flow better , but how much flow is the v6 gonna really need? If he does this , I would really like to see it , the headers the pipe ect.... Im finding this quite interesting and i cant seem to find it on the web.

Hey man I got a 96 V6 too. I bought two flowmaster 40 series and then took them to a muffler shop. They cut the old pipes off just after the sensor. They ran true dual exhaust and put two ractive stainless tips on the end. In the end the total ran to about $450, but it sounded pretty good.

I have talked with many mustang performance people including Colorado Mustang and the thing that I have found out from all of the conversations is that if you do a true dual exhaust system on a v6 you actully lose low end power, so if you want to gain low and high go with a mock dual exhaust.

i put true duals with long tube headers on my '01 V6 automatic and cut 1/2 second off my 0-60. pretty good, i think. low end does suffer a little but as long as you keep Cats i think the back pressure is enough. my system cost a shitload though, (im not posting how much it's embarrasing) and i probably could have gotten the same performance from a converter from the y-pipe. really all you need to do is get some GT pipes cause the GTs don't have midpipes. take em to an exhaust shop and they'll stick em right on your stock headers.
