Broken Short Shifter during Race !!!!!!

Well you guys are not going to beleive this...but guess what happen as I was speed shifting from first to second gear!!!! Yup my POS short Shifter BROKE!!!!! right at the top of the ball point!!!! my shit just broke !!!!! Luckily I was close by to friends house and he towed my car to his house with his truck!! and I went and bought a "El-Cheapo" shifter from Kragen!! But can you believe that shit!! :screwy: :screwy: :screwy: :rofl: Anyway I thought it was funny....

Actually i CAN believe it...believe it or not, lol. I've heard of the cheap ones breaking but not like an every day occourance. Good thing u lucked out and were right by a buddies house, lol.

good thing you didnt bust yourself in the face. my friend was doing the same thing, and not only did it break, but his knob came off too. he shifted hard, hit himself in the face with his own fist and the knob, and the rest of the stick flew into the back of the car

That sucks man, I have one from ebay that I got a long time ago, and ever since I heard about them breakin, I try to shift as nicely as I can...that scares me...

lol i broke my kragen one way back in the day......i now stick to factory shifters. IMO u can shift just as fast either way u go, all a personal preferance really.

Which shifters would you guys reccomend, cause when i do my swap i am goin to go ahead and put one in, but i dont want to have to worry about it breaking

b&m, skunk 2, dc. ive ran the b&m and loved it. also the pacesetter one looks cool being you can adjust throw on it. wonder how well it holds up though?

lol @ crxlvr. Yea get a hurst, i only heard good things about them. I'm thinking bout picking one up sometime soon....that's if my car ever stops having problems.

i recommend not shifting like he-man. all it does is fuck up your tranny. there's no sense in shifting faster than the revs will fall on the engine, or else you're putting even more load on your clutch.

I also have a B&M. Ive had it for a couple of years and have had no problems.
