pioneer p1r

my friend want to sell me a pioneer p1r for about 250 to 300, the deck was used for about 2 week and taken out because some one tried to break in to his car. what do you think should i go for it or should i just save my money and buy a brand new deck? any sugestions on what deck, im going for sound quality.thanks
