Does anyone know how to remove this. I have a friend who has pushed the transmission power button down into the center console and can't afford to take it to the dealer to get this fixed. My guess is that I'll just need to remove 2 or 3 pairs of screws but you never know.
Thanks

With a taped screwdriver, pry up the console upper panel. There are two clips - one on each side of the panel toward the parking brake handle.
If you need to, the rear console box is removed with 4 screws, two in the front and two in the rear accessed from the top. The front console box is removed after that with two more screws on the sides.

if i remember correctly, you shouldnt have to pull the whole center console out to get to the power button. just use a flat head screwdriver very carefully and pop the U shaped ring around the gear selector up.

Gentlemen, thanks for the info. Sounds like this might not be has hard and take as long as I thought. I plan to do this for her next week.
The next thing is to fix the short in the wiring to the trunk lid. The reverse lights only work when the lid is all the way up. Time to get some wire and do a little soldering.
Thanks for the help.
