motorex prices are a bit too high...
hmm...
let's not get into that.
the only way you're going to get one is if someone in the states sells you one that's already legalized, b/c they're not being imported/legalized at the current time.
motorex didn't renew the "permission" from the gov't to do so, so they don't have the legal rights to legalize the r34 anymore.

if you're looking for one, plan to spend upwards of 50k, especially for a legalized one.
and if it's modded?
forget about it, if you're not looking to spend 75k +, get a different car.

If it's for one of the very, VERY few legal R34's in this country, $50k is a VERY conservative price. Think more like $75,000. Those cars are in hot demand, and there are fewer than 5 street legal R34's in the country.

SkylinefreakR34, there are people out there advertising that they can get you an R34 for around $50,000 "totally legal". Please don't believe it. This has been debated into the ground, but the truth is that only Motorex can LEGALLY import Skyline GTR's of any kind. And even they can't get a hold of an R34...currently. Supposedly they're working on being able to legally import 34's again by this fall. So just a word of advice man...when you start getting e-mails from people who can get you your R34, because they're totally working on being an RI, don't waste your money. It'll cost you a lot more in the long run.

dont type with z's. sounds like your 12.

yes there are very very very few r34s right now in the us (legalized), and the few that are legal are for show use. there are only 70 us legal r33 owners. plan on spending alot of money if your looking for an r34. like tuxedo said, upwards of 75k -80k for one.

just saw 2 fast 2 furious eh?

hmm the local tuning shop here just bought an r34 skyline(well last year) and have some mods on it.....i guess it has to be legal....i asked them if they went through motorex and they said no they did it all themselves. so i guess there one of the 5 in the country....lol i think there are more than 5 there has to be. and yes i have seen the car so its not like there blowing smoke out there asses.

I think they got for closer to $100k. One of the ones that Motorex legalized long time ago was sold by the owner recently for around that amount. Unless you have the budget, better start considering a R33 or R32.

There's a big difference between having a car, and having a car legally. Any RI can import any car ever made. But then the RI is responsible for making sure the car is, within six months, legalized (which is NOT POSSIBLE for the R34 at this time), shipped out of the country, or destroyed. But since the government doesn't really crack down hard on this all the time, people get fooled into thinking they will never check. There are some people in Florida who bought Euro-spec Lotus Elises you could ask about this. The government WILL CRUSH YOUR CAR! It is possible to import a race-only GTR, but it has to be sooo converted to race only that it would never pass for street-legal even at a glance. No headlamps, no interior, full roll cage, etc... Government requires a ton of photo documentation for this. Even then it's iffy.

So I will say again, there are fewer than 5 LEGAL R34's in this country. Anyone who tells you there's more is either misinformed or lying. They were the very few that were done before Uncle Sam revoked Motorex's license to legalize 98- and newer GTR's, due to the OBDII system.

ok thankz guy... i just have one more question... i Wanted to ask, wat u said TuxedoCartman>> is it possible that i buy the car and get it imported and all and then not drive it around and wait till im able to legalize the car or itz not allowed to have the car here?

Sad to say, you can't import a car just to have till you can get it legalized. The government allows an RI to have six months to legalize a car, ship a car out of the country, or destroy it. If none of the above have been met, THEN they take your car, crush it, and can start charging the importer ABSURD amounts of money as fines for not meeting the deadline (when I say absurd, I mean like thousands of dollars FOR EACH DAY OVER THE DEADLINE!)

I wish this wasn't the case, because it would be nice to go ahead and get a low mileage R34 V-Spec to hang on to till Motorex gets their OBDII system worked out, but we can't. Your tax dollars at work, my friends...

then that car is illegal. Motorex is the only RI that can LEGALLY legalize a skyline at this point. i heard RB Motoring should be done with their paper work within the next few months and will be registered, but until then you HAVE to go through Motorex to have a legal skyline. To become able to legalize the car, you have to crash 3 models of the same car with crash results and everything...and unfortunatly Motorex will not release that information. It is quite expensive and time consuming.
