Help!! Heating Core Prob?!?!

Hey guys, your probably all guys... ANYWAY! Hi, my name is Lisa and I just recieved my brothers 90 cavalier as a gift. I love "her" but the only thing is, is that I have anti freeze leaking and I was told that it was the heating core. Now... my father told me that I can bypass the heating core and the car will be fine. I just wont have heat. But my boyfriend and his Friends say that I NEED the heating core even If I dont use the heat. Now, I know car basics but I deff. dont understand this shit at all. Is my father right? or is my boyfriend... THANKS, Lisa <3 :banghead:

You can bypass the heater core,Just connect the two hoses that go to the heater core and connect them together and your car will be fine,Except you will have no heat at all.It won't hurt anything

it is leaking from... ehh, the heating core.I think. I know that its leaking and that its a lot! but im really sorry thats all i know. But i was told that the problem is deff. the heating core...
