Should I buy a 2ndgen Integra?

Hello all! Im usually on the car modelling board around here but i have a question for all you integra owners. Ill be buying a car this summer (finally). I've been researching several different cars, and was curious as to why should i buy a 2nd gen 90 or 91 integra? I want a car that is fun to drive with lots of options for future upgrade. I also need it to be reliable as my daily driver. I've also looked at civic efs and egs as well as the crx. Im also considering a 240sx.
The reason I am liking the integra lately is because it has the b18a (on the rs, ls, and gs correct me if im wrong?). Which is 130hp i believe (this is info i got from another site, again if im wrong please tell me), as opposed to a civic which is no more than 105hp on the si and 92 on the dx. I also don't want the 240sx because of snow, but i could get over it.
So why should i buy an integra? Tell me any and all good points about it!
Thanks in advance!!

Well, if you live where it snows RWD would be a real pain. So I'd opt not to go with the 240sx.
As far as the others. Well the Integra is probably safer then the CRX. But the CRX has more potential, IMHO.
As for ef's and eg's, Im not a big fan. They seem to not have too much potential until you swap engines, which can be a pain. May as well get an Integra for less money then swapping anything into the old hatch.
Good luck

way to not answer my question everyone.

yes, you are correct about the horsepower.
if you want to get a 92-93 integra they changed the bumpers to a sportier looking bumper, although they removed the vents in the front bumper that aid in cooling the rotors from the 90-91. the 92-93 integra (non-GSR) has 140hp and a 300rpm higher redline. the vents in the bumper is nothing to be concerned about, they changed them for a reason, sufficient cooling is supplied from the air rushing underneath the car.
if you can find it get a 92-93 GS-R. has a 1500rpm higher redline than the 90-91 and has 30 more horsepower. It is also equipped with the V-TEC system. these cars are rare and thus cost more.
I have owned 3 integras and have been nothing but happy with all of them, they are a very fun car and i have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. they have quite sufficient getup and go in their stock form and even more with simple addons like an intake and a high flow catalytic convertor. these cars also get very good gas mileage. my first integra (a 91 GS) got 34 miles to the gallon on the freeway with 2 people in the car and the AC on going 85 MPH the whole time (4250rpm. I-5, speed limit 75)
i hope i answered all of your questions.

i own one and have done some respectable work to it, its pretty quick, take out the spare tire, rear seats, and run a CAI, spoon performance chip, a custom exhaust system (2 1/2 cat back) dc headers and you'll run respectable 13 (or better depending on how well you can drive it) second quarter mile times

no you wont... dont go telling people BS like that, hell be pretty disapointed when he goes to the track and runs a mid 15 or slower when hes expecting a 13 or better. especially if he gets the 130HP 90-91 teg
the spare tire and seats arent even gonna take out 100 lbs, so there is maybe a tenth cut off the time.
it takes I/H/E/VAFC to hit high 14's in a newer GSR, at SEA LEVEL!
my friend had a 2nd gen with a B16 and I/H/E and only ran mid 15's.
as far as your questions, I have never had a 2nd gen but have had 2 3rd gens so far and I like integras alot, for sure the n ext car I buy to mod is going to be another teg, 3rd gen again though, like the looks better, but my friends 2nd gen was nice too, comfortable, quick, good on gas, reliable, and still look real god.
I would say get the integra over the CRX or civics unles you wanted to have an all out balls to the wall street racer, thats the only thing that makes up gfor the looks, insane speed. but it sounds like you want more of a quick, stylish, reliable daily driver than a race car.
even with the 91 though and simple bolt ons it wil still be pretty quick, a friend had that same setup once, kinda, just intake and exhaust and all sorts of weight added with kit/system and such and it still had some getup to it, not much once you hit about 70 but it was old and probably getting tired. but hondas go for a LONG time so probably not, only had 143k or something, but it was driven hard and that'll wear it out kinda quick.

spot on 94tegrs i do just want a quick, stylish, reliable daily driver. i dont need a balls out racer otherwise i'd by a crx and eventually do a b series engine swap with a turbo. and im not gonna put any heavy ass stereo equipment or body kit on it either. thanks everyone, if anyone else has anymore input feel free to reply!

how much money do you have? cause if you had it i'd say get a type-r, no need to upgrade at all just a quick daily driver.

the mods i listed aren't the only ones done to my car, i'm just saying mine will run high 13's because i have built mine ALL MOTOR and have done so much to it, its not even funny. over 20k invested in the engine/tranny. and its not "on the bottle" (nitrous). had it bored out, a racing intake manifold with a new throttle body, AEM cold air intake, rear seats GONE, ALL TRUNK SHIT GONE, LSD tranny (limited slip) titanium rods and pistons, DC Sports Headers, Racing (not street legal) high flow cat, custom made exhaust (2 1/2 inches from cat back) running the pipe at a slight angle straight to the driver side rear axle and then straight out the left side (so technically straight pipe), a B&M short throw shifter with shift stabilizer kit, a SPOON performance chip, performance fuel injectors, AEM CAM GEARS, performance cams, racing underdrive pulleys, want more, cuz there's lots, my car is NOT street legal but i drive it anyway, the only thing about it that makes seem illlegal is how rediculously loud the exhaust is but i just shut it up with a silencer. there's lots of other little things done to it but my dad's friend has a shop with a dyno and it pumped out (to the wheels) 322.6 hp and 309 ft-lbs of torque. when i used nitrous, (only once on the dyno) it made 472 hp and 420 ft-lbs of torque. sorry if i didn't clarify it.

and i'll try to scan and put up the pics and papers from when i had it on the dyno in case you'd like the proof, plus pics of my engine etc.

i'd like to see some pics, that would be great, o and i'll have about 3g to spend on the car, ill have an extra 500 for immediate tuneup/work, and then ill probably put another 500 into it by the end of summer. thanks again everyone

well, all you said was take out spare tire/seats and get CAI/H/E and a spoon chip and hell run 13's that IS what you said, and 322WHP NA, how high do you rev that thing? I highly doubt it, I wont completely say you are lyign cuz it is posible but who whould ever put over 20k into the engine to still be driving a 2nd gen teg.
and with that much power you must have some crazy cams, must suck to drive everyday.
on hondata.com they built a 2 liter B18C1 and they only got 268WHP at 10k, and that thing runs 10's, sure it is a civic and probably completely gutted, but with almost 60HP more at the wheels it should make up for alot of that weight, so you are trying to tell me that your daily driver is a 10 second honda. LOL, never heard that before.
and believe me, your 20k engine isnt going to run off a stock ECU with a "spoon performance chip" :loser:
especially with the nitrous on there, if you really did do a pull on the dyno spraying a 150 shot, you wouldnt have had any power, youd be running around the shop gathering your engine peice by peice.
so in the end I will just say I dont believe you..
or you still didnt clarify it right.

BS kid, all motor honda engines do not put out 322.6hp and 309ft lbs, besides hp numbers like that would put you well into the 11's and 12's unless you haulin some ghetto booty.
