I know this has probably been asked before, but how does everyone feel about fuel additives? STP cleaners? Marvel Mystery Oil? some say the work, others say the are crap... any opinions?

Well, before I got the malibu, I was using the camaro to drive back an fourth to Cape Cod. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive. I'd do this every other week. I'd run a can of Techron before I came home, and I'd get about 300 miles out of the tank. 1/2 tank on a 3 1/2 hour drive at about 80 was excellent. But it doesn't do too much around town that I have noticed. I ran a can in my jeep, but I didn't get better milage until I recharged the k&n, and cleaned out the disgusting throttle body. I assume I'll be getting even better milage out of my camaro when I get the carb done over. Hope I helped.

The only additives i have used are the ones i get at my dealership. such as the BG service stuff. although i have heard its BG on the east coast, and out west they use Lucas products. the 44k fuel system cleaner works i can attest to that, also the induction service and Throttle body cleaning products work very well. they also have radiator and cooling system treatments that i have not yet used on my own vehicles but have used on customer cars, and not had comebacks. as far as things like prolong and Z-max and such, i dont trust anything that i can buy from a 1-800 number.
