nope, the two engines are radicly different, there is absolutely no parts comminality between them. they started from a clean sheet of paper with the LS1, it would be about as easy to bolt a V6 head on a 350 as it would a LS1 head.

Nor will the LT1 because of the reverse coolant flow. But if your looking for a good set of heads I would recommend the 350 vortec heads. These babies produce some good horsepower numbers.

someone else suggested the vortec heads???????? im shocked, i thought that was just me. but yeah, those heads, especially with some port work, oversized valves, and chamber polishing, will outflow many bowtie race heads. as a matter of fact, they outflow the base bowtie race head without ANY modifications.

A vortec head in a GM head that was put on Chevrolet trucks with the vortec 350 starting in 96. You can get these heads in junk yards but make sure there not the ones off a 3/4 ton cause they are a little differant. Also you can get them from you local GM dealer or summit for a price of $519.90 a pair. completly assembled. These heads offer a 20-40 HP increase over earlier cast iron heads . They've got a 64cc combustion chamber 170cc intake runners and a high-velocity LT1 port design. And will handle up to a .480'' lift cam. They've got a 1.94'' intake/1.50" exhaust valves.

AND HE KNOWS ABOUT THEM!!!! oh dude, you made me happy in pants. but yeah, there are two different castings, 062's which are the ones you want, and 906's which are the ones you dont. they are the 8(??) digit number in the rockerarm vally, ending in either of those three digits. the 062's are in tahoes and suburbans, and silverados (and the GMC equivilents) the 906's are the heavy duty truck engines, like box trucks and 3/4 ton trucks. they have an exhaust port that cannot be machined. and has poor flow characteristics for performance.

oh and i have read that the vortecs actually have 61cc chambers, even though they are listed at 64cc's. but i have to measuer the set that i have. got them off a 99 tahoe. ive been meaning to have them tested to get airflow numbers and chamber size, but havent gotten around to it.

Oh yea, the E-Tec aluminum 170 or 200 head. These are the upgrade for the Vortec head the 170 head is suppose to produce 12 more HP and 11 ft-lb over the stock vortec and cost about $1040. The 200 head produces about 19 HP & 15 ft-lb more torque and cost around $1100.
