crazy idea

first off i have a '97 Z28 (obviously a 350).... recently i came across this product and admitedly not being to knowledgable in toying with actual intake manifolds and things associated with them, i come to you guys and ask the question of- will this work?...

well...... unfortunatly it's not cheap- $2300, but it says it'll put out anywhere between 385-480hp depending on what injectors and other such stuff you use. also im sure cylinder heads, intake etc. have a part too but i plan on replacing all that for higher performance so i'd prolly end up in the 400's.

im not sure exactly if it will bolt up to an LT1, if im right, i believe it was designed to be a bolt on replacement for a TPI intake system. you could always drop holley a line, and ask their tech assistance.

Looking at that Holly intake you might have a problem with stock hood clearance. Have you looked at the LT1 to LT4 conversion kit. Its says it puts out a proven 425+ horsepower. It comes with the LT4 heads, intake, cam, roller rockers and all the gaskets. For a 97 Z28 it is $2329.95. And will fit under a stock hood. From summit it is part # NAL-GMP3287-2.

i have looked at the LT4 and that was my original plan until this and i have no problem with getting a new hood or having it pop through or whatever would work out. at this point im just trying to figure out what im gonna do wether it's LT4, custom setup, this Holley intake or switching to carb and really having some fun (that one kinda died out though). but anyway, like i said im just trying to decide what i want to do and was wondering if it would work and be an option for me to use.

i would say go with the LT4, that way it also looks somewhat stock. i have always liked the sleeper look.
