Performance chip

I am wanting to get a performance chip for my camaro. I have not done and mods to the car. I plan to put on the K&N filter but I think that is it for now. Does anyone recommend a certain chip? Do i want a chip or do i want the computer that resets my car computer? Stage one or two? What mods will help out the chip? Any idea on cost?
