need help fixing driver side window

i believe that when i rolled down my window on
my 1993 pontiac grand am over the winter, the window came off the track
(i have manual windows)
because it rolls down, but will not roll back up
i was going to take apart the door this summer
and try to fix it myself, but my dad works with
someone who had the same problem
with a grand am, and said that you cant get inside the door to fix the window.
is this true? is there a way to fix the window, or do i have to buy a whole new door?
please help!

take your interior door panel out and there will be plastic sheet covering the guts of the door peel it back without disturbing the black sealer , the window trac is right in there , should be plain view.
