I'am changing the front drive axle's and i can't remove the right drive axle. I have removed the snap ring and the locking bolt but i can't pull the complete axle out. Has anyone had the same problem

oh yeah.. you most like are NOT going to get that out. That bearing gets seized in the mount. An air hammer, pry bars, and sometimes some heat are the only way to get that out of there. Are you getting a new axle???? Here's my suggestion..... remover the large CV boot clamp just to the outside of that bearing that you cannot remove. Pull the inner joint apart, and when you get the new axle, do the same thing, and install the new half and replace the clamp. This is the easiest way to do it, and you replace all the wearable parts of the axle still.

right on the money erndog, that bearing does not come out, 1/2 shaft swap best way to go

I finally had to replace my passenger axle again at 318,000 miles and this time I just swapped from the inner joint out and left the bearing in as mentioned above. So easy this way. Couple hours beats a couple days and no need for the hassle of a shop. Maybe even easier than doing a split boot.

If you search this forum, you can find a description of someone's procedure for pulling that inner shaft.

I want to do the job too since my right side outside boot is leaking. I am wondering how long is it going to take? What special tools i need?
